This white Zimmermann dress is one of my top summer purchases. I soon realised that a white cotton dress is a summer wardrobe staple. It gets so hot out here in Ibiza, white is essential to reflect the heat. For years I thought white didn’t suit me, but now I know that it looks much better with texture, and pattern and then I can wear it. I won’t deny it, a good tan helps too!
What I was surprised about is how well this Zimmermann dress washes and travels. Just pop it in the machine at 30 degrees and iron. The cotton is beautifully soft and the cut is amazing. It was an investment piece, and well worth it.
I like to pair with gold jewellery, like this gorgeous necklace from Monsieur Blonde I picked up in Bali. This one I got from the Potato Head Beach Club boutique, which has some gorgeous delicate jewellery. It’s made with different crystals which I just love!
This dress works equally well with flat sandals or heels. I do love my metallic accessories for summer so it’s usually paired with gold sandals for me. These ones were from Net a Porter and are by Sam Edelman. They are such a classic I bought them in 3 colours, nude, gold and black.
For the last few years I mainly shopped on my travels, picking up pieces where-ever I went. These gold earrings are actually from the gallery shop at Palazzo Strozzi, the art gallery, which was open until 11pm (never one to miss a chance for a little retail therapy – and it’s a really great gallery too).
This particular Zimmermann dress is from last season, but they have similar versions available here this season available at Net-a-Porter and Matches. Try the Zimmermann Roza dress here or the Zimmermann Ryker Dress here and I love the more dressy Zimmermann Caravan dress here.
For a longer version I love the Zimmermann Oleander dress here.
As I get older, I am getting into the idea of wardrobe essentials, and capsule wardrobe pieces that I can wear time and time again. This is definitely one of them. Happy Summer Shopping!
